Philosophy of Communication
Communication is all around us and it influences our lives every day. It is constantly evolving and it allows us to build positive relationships with those around us. By being able to effectively relay our thoughts and ideas, actively listen to others, and successfully hold conversations with people, we can continue to help the world grow through communication.

Wisconsin Lutheran College: Resident Assistant
I was given the amazing opportunity to be a resident assistant in the freshman halls for the 2019-2020 school year. Here I got to know each resident personally while supporting them as they navigated their first year at college. I also got to plan fun programs to help the residents connect with one another and the school. My two favorite events were Chick-fil-pray, where we were able to hear God's word and participate in a Bible study presented by one of the Vicars while eating Chick-fil-a, as well as Tie Blankets and Tea, where we made tie blankets together for a homeless shelter. While being a RA, I learned how to actively listen, help others with conflict, and communicate rules and goals effectively. These skills will be very beneficial for me in any future career I have.
Wisconsin Lutheran College: Office of Events & Conferences
I started working in the office of Events and Conferences in October of 2017. Under the supervision of Karen Plamann, I learned how to complete tasks efficiently. We were in charge of setting up for events throughout campus and ensuring that they ran smoothly. Along with that, when I was promoted to Team Lead my senior year, I was personally in charge of making sure every event we hosted had coverage. Throughout my time working here my attention to detail developed as well as my ability to communicate effectively with other students, faculty, and guests of WLC. I grew so much while working for Karen and I will be able to put the knowledge I gained from her to good use in any job I hold in the future.
Delaware North: Special Events & Catering Intern at Miller Park
During the summer of 2019 I worked as a special events and catering intern for Delaware North at Miller Park. While here, I learned how to successfully run the catering side of events. These events ranged from small business meetings with 15 people, weddings of 200 guests, and even tailgates that fed well over 350 people! Through this internship, I learned the importance of organization as well as the need for good teamwork in event planning. Thanks to this internship, I feel more comfortable in my ability to lead others and guide them through different types of events.
NCAA DIII Athlete

I competed in three years of cross country and 4 years of track at WLC. I was the captain of the cross country team along with the other seniors during the fall of 2019. With their help as well as the help of great senior captains that were before us, I was able to lead the team and help them grow closer together and as individual runners. This was made possible by building interpersonal relationships with everyone and showing them that they were cared for and having them on the team was a blessing. Knowing that building close relationships with others is just as important as other aspects of a job, I will take that with my to my future career and build others around me up and let them know they are appreciated.

Leadership and Communication Project
For COM 333- Leadership and Communication class, we were given the task of creating and completing a project of our choosing. I selected a fundraiser for New Beginnings: A Home for Mothers. For it, I had to step out of my comfort zone and do things I had never done before. While there were bumps in the road, I was able to grow as a leader and in the end collected a car load full of toys and over $400 for New Beginnings. The bumps in the road taught me patience, to be okay when plan "A"doesn't work, and how to effectively lead others and work with others.
ABOUT ME
I grew up just outside of the city of Racine, Wisconsin, and in my free time I love spending time with my friends and family and traveling up north to Eagle River. I transferred to Wisconsin Lutheran College after spending one semester at University of Wisconsin-Madison. While UW-Madison was a great, I wanted a school with smaller class sizes and a place where I could continue my running career. WLC helped me grow so much and I can't wait to take what I learned there and apply it to future opportunities.
